Staff Bio:

Tell us what brought you to UNT and what you do here.
I’ve been familiar with UNT’s campus since I was a little kid. My mother started working for UNT as a graduate assistant while she finished her master’s degree and would sign me up for the different camps around campus. Inspired by her ambition and perseverance, I followed in her footsteps. I began attending UNT in 2015 to finish my degree and started working for DAIR. I was inspired by the work and really became attached to Higher Education. When I graduated, I applied to be the coordinator for marketing at UNT at Frisco. Dean Wesley Randall and Assistant Dean Arvind Mallik added me to the team in 2019 where I now collaborate across several departments to ensure Frisco’s voice is included in advertising, marketing, and outreach.

What do you enjoy most about working at UNT?
The people you meet when you work at UNT can become people you’ll know for the rest of your life. It's incredible the number of people I’ve met that I consider my close friends now. UNT seems to attract passionate people whether they're students, faculty, or staff, that want to make a difference in someone’s life.

What are your favorite hobbies?
My bachelor’s degree is in Fine Art because I love the art of craft. I started with air dry clay at a young age, I did a lot of drawing and writing through school, but my favorite mediums are wood, leather, and metal.

My other favorite hobby is traveling and hiking! My sister and I started traveling together when we were moving our grandparents from Tennessee to Texas. Now we drive out to New Mexico and Colorado as often as possible to hike and camp in the mountains.

Where did you grow up and where else have you lived?
I was born in Modesto California! (near San Jose). We moved to DFW Texas when I was 5 for my dad's work and never left. Now nearly the whole family is here!
